This calculator has been developed inline with MCS020 standard in regard to heat pump noise assessments, issue 1.3. For ease of use, the "step numbers" have been included so you can complete the values on your MCS documentation.

MCS Noise Calculator

1. Using manufacturer data, enter the highest A-Weighted sound power level specified for the heat pump.

2. Direction, select the surroundings of the heat pump.

3. Measure the distance from the heat pump to the assessment position.

4. dB reduction level.

5. Are there any barriers between the heat pump and assessment position?

6. Sound pressure level of the heatpump at the assessment position.

7. Background noise level.

8. Difference between background and heatpump.

9. Expected noise level including dB correction factor.

10. Compliant?
